“Serving the largest companies since 1964”

Company History

The Leuenberger family-run bar turning business was founded in 1964 by Gilbert and Ruth Leuenberger. Passionate about his profession as a bar turner, Gilbert decided to embark on an independent project and transformed a garage into a workshop. It was then, in 1967, that the first part of the current workshop was built. It could hold around 15 machines..

His wife and partner, Ruth Leuenberger, has always been there for Gilbert. At different times, she has held all positions in the company: from secretarial work to shipping, right through to washing the parts.

Yves Leuenberger, also supported by his wife Sylvie, joined his father’s company in 1985 after completing his apprenticeship as a mechanic and training as a technician. From then onwards, the general management was shared between Gilbert and Yves up until 2014. A successful partnership from the outset, as the factory has never stopped expanding, first in 1979 and then in 1990, 1994, 1999, 2005 and 2008. Starting out with just one or two employees, it now has 40 employees. In July 2014, Gilbert retired at the age of 88. He said with a smile: “I’ve spent 72 years in bar turning oil, I certainly won’t start rusting any time soon!”

The family business is now run by Boris Leuenberger, Gilbert’s grandson. He became Manager at age 23, due to his father having health problems. After his apprenticeship as a general mechanic, he completed engineering school in 2013 and went to work in the United States for one year. Boris enthusiastically took over the reins of the company to continue the work his grandfather and father started more than 50 years ago.

Long-term customer relations

Ever since the company was set up, we have always prioritised long-term partnerships; in fact, our first two clients are also still loyal customers.
